What does a head of accommodation do?

A Head of Accommodation is responsible for managing and overseeing all aspects of accommodation services in an organization, such as a university, hotel, or large residential facility. Job description

Would you like to lead and develop some of Narvikโ€™s most exciting tourism experiences?

Our Narvik operations are entering one of the most exciting periods in their history. In the lead-up to the 2029 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships, we will develop our facilities, organisation and guest offerings. At the same time, we will continue building a strong year-round operation, with activities and experiences across all seasons.

In January 2026, our Narvik operations became part of Norwayโ€™s Best Group โ€“ one of Norwayโ€™s leading tourism groups, known for developing sustainable travel experiences in world-class surroundings.

We are now looking for an operational and development-oriented leader for Basecamp, Camp 291, ski-lift restaurant and our new restaurant at Basecamp. Over time, you will also contribute leadership capacity and support to Polar Park, our Arctic wildlife park, including Nordlysrestauranten and Wolf Lodge.

About the role

You will have overall responsibility for the operation and development of our accommodation and food and beverage businesses in Narvik. This includes responsibility for employees, quality, guest experiences, financial performance and continuous improvement.

This is a hands-on leadership role in which you will be visible in the day-to-day operation and work closely with your employees and managers. At the same time, you will create structure, develop effective ways of working and support the long-term development of the business.

You will be part of the management team for our Narvik operations and collaborate with accommodation and food and beverage specialists across Norwayโ€™s Best Group.

Your key responsibilities
  • Lead and further develop the operation of our accommodation and food and beverage businesses
  • Manage, support and develop employees and managers
  • Plan staffing and contribute to recruitment and competence development
  • Ensure excellent guest experiences through systematic work on service and quality
  • Monitor budgets, operational figures and financial results
  • Improve routines, systems and work processes
  • Collaborate across departments, locations and specialist teams
Who are we looking for?

We are looking for a confident and clear leader who combines strong execution skills with commercial understanding. You create structure and clear priorities, follow through on decisions and involve employees in developing and improving the operation.

To succeed in this role, we believe you have:
  • Experience in operational leadership with personnel responsibility
  • Experience from hotels, restaurants, tourism or another relevant service-intensive operation
  • Experience with budgets, operational performance or financial results
  • The ability to prioritise and follow up several operational areas at the same time
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills in Norwegian or another Scandinavian language, as well as English
  • A valid category B driving licence

Experience with hotel or property management systems (PMS) and seasonal operations is an advantage.

Be part of Narvikโ€™s development

A great deal will happen in Narvik in the lead-up to the 2029 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships. New facilities, products and guest experiences will be developed. At the same time, we will strengthen the organisation and create year-round activity and employment opportunities. The World Championships are an important milestone, but our long-term ambition is to build an attractive year-round tourism business that offers strong opportunities for professional development and career progression.

You will take on a key leadership role with a real opportunity to influence the development of our employees, operations and guest experiences. As part of Norwayโ€™s Best Group, you will also have access to colleagues and specialist teams across several locations and businesses.
