Valiant Harbor International is seeking a
Cyber Operations Lead to support the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), Office of Information Technology and Data Innovation (ITDI). This role will support strengthening the agency's cyber defense operations, optimizing security processes, and providing strategic guidance to protect critical systems from evolving cyber threats. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in cybersecurity operations, threat detection, incident response, and the implementation of security content. This is a remote role that may require occasional travel.
Key Responsibilities:
- The Cybersecurity Operations Lead will directly support the ARPA-H Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) with establishing, conducting, and optimizing ARPA-H's cybersecurity operations activities.
- Lead hands-on activities to monitor, detect, and respond to cyber threat activity.
- Implement, maintain, and optimize security content (e.g., rules, signatures, alerts) to enhance the detection of threat actors and their activity.
- Provide expert guidance and recommendations to the ARPA-H CISO on modern policies, procedures, and processes for securing and defending the agency's systems.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Demonstrated experience establishing, conducting, and optimizing enterprise cybersecurity operations.
- Hands-on experience monitoring, detecting, and responding to cybersecurity threats and incidents.
- Experience implementing, maintaining, and optimizing security content, including detection rules, signatures, and alerts, to improve threat detection capabilities.
- Ability to provide expert guidance and recommendations on cybersecurity policies, procedures, and processes to strengthen an organization's security posture.
Work Environment: Remote. Some travel anticipated.
