Job description

Position Summary:
Perform routine and specialized groundskeeping tasks to maintain all turf, landscaping, irrigation, and course features to high standards for playability and aesthetics. Work under the supervision of the Superintendent or the Assistant Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Mow tees, fairways, greens, collars, roughs and approaches using walk-behind and ride-on mowers; perform line trimming and edging.
  • Aerate, topdress, verticut and roll greens as directed.
  • Perform turf cultural practices: fertilizing, pest and weed control (follow label and club policies).
  • Operate, clean and perform basic maintenance on equipment (mowers, utility vehicles, tractors, blowers, trimmers); report larger mechanical issues.
  • Maintain bunkers: rake, edge, add/replace sand, and repair drainage as needed.
  • Prune, trim, plant and maintain trees, shrubs, flower beds and landscape beds.
  • Monitor turf and landscape health; report disease, pest or drainage problems to supervisor.
  • Set up and maintain course signage, tee markers, hole locations and cups; prepare course for tournaments and special events.
  • Collect and dispose of course litter and organic waste; maintain cart paths, bridges and practice areas.
  • Follow all safety procedures, use PPE, and adhere to environmental and chemical handling protocols.
Qualifications:
  • Bilingual is preferred, not required.
  • Previous groundskeeping, landscaping or golf course maintenance experience preferred.
  • Familiarity with turfgrass care, irrigation systems and basic equipment operation.
  • Ability to read and follow pesticide labels and safety instructions; applicable pesticide certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
  • Strong attention to detail, reliability and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to lift / carry up to 50 lbs frequently and up to 75 lbs occasionally.
  • Prolonged standing, walking on uneven terrain, bending, kneeling and repetitive hand movements.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, including heat, cold and rain.
Work Schedule & Conditions:
  • Full-time; early mornings, weekends and holidays common depending on season and course needs.
  • Seasonal overtime during peak growing season and tournament periods.
Reporting Relationship:
Reports to: Course Superintendent / Head Groundskeeper
May supervise: Seasonal crew or volunteers as assigned.
Compensation & Benefits:
  • Entry level position paying $16-$18/hr depending on experience
