General Summary

  • The Groundskeeper Intern will assist with maintaining the grounds and campus during the summer months, contributing to a welcoming and safe environment for our patients and staff.

Essential Duties

  • Perform maintenance tasks on the hospital grounds to include: landscaping, flower bed updates and trash pickup.
  • Assist with moving furniture, assembling items, and completing specialist projects as assigned.
  • Conduct cleaning and organizing tasks to ensure a tidy and safe environment around the campus.
  • Operate minor hand tools and grounds keeping tools, and drive equipment as needed.
  • Follow safety rules and regulations as per hospital policies while performing semi-skilled maintenance duties.

Qualification

  • Must at 17 years of age to apply
  • Experience with hand tools, maintenance, landscaping or grounds keeping preferred.

Certification/License

  • Valid Missouri Drivers License

Mental/Physical Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, perform math skills and calculations related to position, Standing, walking, sitting, lifting up to 35 lbs. without lifting aids. Mental ability to perform under stress, operate power tools, testing equipment and machinery.


Working Conditions

  • May experience long periods of standing, walking. May come in contact with patients. Will encounter unpleasant conditions and exposure to heat, cold, noise, dirt, inclement weather, chemicals and gases, water, fumes, overhead pipes, infectious disease or waste.
