Job description

Position:            Assistant Groundskeeper

Schedule:          Monday – Friday 9am – 5pm with occasional overtime/weekend work as needed

Location:           Washington, CT

Salary:                $25-30/hour

 

Overview

A private family is seeking a reliable and hardworking Assistant Groundskeeper to maintain the exterior of the property at their 35-acre estate in Washington, CT. Candidate will assist with all phases of lawn and grounds care, working alongside the groundskeeping crew. This is a hands-on, outdoor role for someone who takes pride in maintaining beautiful grounds.

Responsibilities:

•        Mow, trim, and edge lawns; weed and maintain planted areas

•        Plant grass, shrubs, and bushes; water and apply fertilizer as needed

•        Rake, mulch, prune, and weed whack grounds on a regular schedule

•        Sweep walkways and use leaf blower to clear driveways and paths

•        Cut small tree limbs and maintain overall property appearance

•        Assist with cleaning, basic upkeep, and identifying needed repairs

•        Follow all safety rules; wear provided PPE when required

•        Report completed work to supervisor orally or via written work order

Qualifications:

•        Minimum age 18 with a valid U.S. driver’s license (required)

•        2–3 years of landscaping or groundskeeping experience preferred

•        Experience in operating small engine equipment, including chainsaw, weed whacker, leaf blower, hedge trimmer, and push/walk behind/zero turn ride-on mowers (SCAG), ride on blowers, ride on fertilizers.

•        Ability to commute daily to Washington, CT (required)

•        Able to lift up to 50 lbs. with assistance; comfortable working outdoors in all conditions

•        Able to read safety instructions and communicate clearly with staff and supervisors

•        Must be legally authorized to work in the USA (required)
