JOB SUMMARY: The Soccer Field Supervisor will monitor the soccer fields during practices and games and is responsible for setting up and taking down equipment.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively support the agency’s risk management protocol to effectively control and reduce accidents
- Obey the practical safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Safety Committee, and attend and participate in required safety training
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices or conditions to the immediate supervisor
- Perform other related duties as assigned, based on agency needs
- Create a safe, engaging environment through the framework of soccer practices and games
- Set up and take down soccer goals (as needed) and equipment
- Oversee first aid station during practice and games
- Complete accident/incident reports in full and submit to the direct supervisor
- Interact positively with youth, coaches, parents/guardians, and team members
- Communicate with other Park District staff, supervisors, coaches, parents & players as needed
- Actively uphold and contribute to the Wilmette Park District's Comprehensive and Strategic Plan, including its Guiding Principles and Strategic Priorities.
- Actively contribute to the Park District's sustainability goals.
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Actively support the safety program that will effectively control and reduce accidents.
- Obey the safety rules, regulations, and procedures established by the Wilmette Park District safety program that are pertinent to the activities conducted by the department.
- Become familiar with and follow safety procedures of the Wilmette Park District, including, but not limited to, fire, severe weather, and evacuation procedures.
- Promptly report all unsafe actions, practices, or conditions observed to the immediate supervisor or to the Human Resources/Risk Management department.
- Attend and participate in required safety training.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- At least one year of experience playing soccer
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to project across a large area using clear and concise language
- Ability to maintain self-control and composure in high-stress and/or difficult situations
- Ability to work independently and to problem-solve
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Must be able to work outdoors in all seasons
- Must be able to run back and forth along the length of a soccer field
- Ability to lift 50 lbs. for 25 yards
CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:
- Valid Illinois Driver’s license
- Must possess CPR/First Aid certificates within three months of hiring, provided by the Park District
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- The work environment characteristics described herein are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job.
- The general work area is outdoors and is subject to seasonal weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Outdoor conditions vary by season.

- Monday – Friday, 4:00 – 8:00 PM
- Saturday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
