Job Description

- 7x24x365 Support

- Perform physical site planning for all computer equipment to be installed or de-installed

- Coordinate floor space and electrical power requirements between departments

- Review, finalize, and signoff on hardware components to be acquired to fulfill IMACs 

- Receive and inventory equipment to be installed in the data center and arrange for shipping of equipment out of the data center

- Perform mainframe and midrange computer processor, tape, network, and disk hardware installs/de-installs, moves, adds, changes (IMACS)

- Provide connectivity to installed mainframe and midrange computer processor, tape, network, and disk hardware as required

- Maintain CMDB and perform audits

- Coordinate vendor hardware and circuit installations

- Support/perform hardware break/fix activities 

- Assist vendors with hardware problem determination

- Vendor management escalation and escort when applicable 

- Provide off hours facility engineering support

- Provide internal and external audit support

- Attend internal and client meetings to provide support for hardware related inquiries 

- Support all physical transitions including organic and new business 

- Maybe be asked to assist in loading of images or configurations on certain equipment during the install process

Qualifications

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 

- Installing hardware in the data center

- Maintaining hardware related output queues (incident, service request, change)

- Basic troubleshooting (incident management) of hardware related problems

- Follow all data center and hardware related processes and procedures

- Assist in maintaining CMDB and hardware inventory for Site Services 

- Provide shipping & receiving support, assist other team members 

- Vendor management at the site - escalations, escort, assistance in troubleshooting

60% Installation of hardware

30% Incident management

10% CMDB Maintenance, shipping/receiving
