Position description:
  • Our client is seeking an experienced Indirect Sales Buyer (Level 2) to join their Procurement Team on a contract basis.
  • This role specializes in the sourcing and procurement of software services, IT/ET (Information Technology/Engineering Technology) hardware, and Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solutions.
  • The successful candidate will support our client's mission of building a road to space by ensuring timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of indirect goods and services.
Key responsibilities:
  • Execute end-to-end procurement activities for software licensing, SaaS subscriptions, IT/ET hardware, and related professional services
  • Process purchase requisitions and convert them into purchase orders in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions with suppliers to achieve optimal value while managing risk
  • Review and interpret software licensing agreements, SaaS contracts, and maintenance/support terms
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders (IT, Engineering, Finance, Legal) to clarify requirements and ensure alignment on specifications and timelines
  • Manage supplier relationships and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, invoicing, and contract performance
  • Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation to support audit and compliance requirements
  • Track and report on key metrics such as cost savings, cycle time, and supplier performance
  • Support spend analysis and identify opportunities for consolidation, standardization, and cost reduction
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, applicable regulations, and ethical sourcing standards
Required qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience)
  • 3-5 years of procurement/purchasing experience, with demonstrated focus on indirect categories
  • Hands-on experience sourcing software services, IT/ET hardware, and/or SaaS solutions
  • Working knowledge of software licensing models, SaaS subscription structures, and IT hardware procurement
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships
  • Proficiency with ERP/procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Coupa, or similar)
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in the aerospace, defense, or high-tech manufacturing industries
  • Familiarity with procurement compliance requirements (e.g., FAR/DFARS) in a government contracting environment
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPSM, CPM, or equivalent)
  • Experience with contract lifecycle management tools
  • Understanding of total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis for IT/software purchase
