Job description

Food Safety Role & Responsibility:
As an individual, the incumbent must understand the Food Safety Statement, complete the required training, perform work assignments in accordance with training and display an acceptable level of competency with all Quality Assurance/Safety/Security policies and training requirements. Areas of food safety training will include, but are not limited to, GMP, Food Safety Plan, Food Safety and Quality Statement, FSSC 22000/Global Food Safety Policy/Food Safety Goals, Visitor/Food/Site Security, Emergency Preparedness, and Blood borne Pathogens.
The individual must also request additional and/or refresher training if he or she feels that it is needed to effectively perform requirements in specific areas of responsibility.
Schedule: Monday to Friday: 8:00 am to 5:00pm
Summary
The Quality Assurance Coordinator supports the Quality and Food Safety organization in the maintenance of all quality systems activities in the Streamwood Plant. The primary responsibility of the Quality Assurance Coordinator is implementation, support, and management of the FSSC 22000 program ensuring products and processes adhere to applicable specifications and industry standards, pre-requisite programs and internal, third-party quality requirements/audits and CARs. The Quality Assurance coordinator oversees the daily operations of food safety activities, including quality system management and related audits, document control programs, continuous improvement programs and operational regulations requirements (pre-requisite programs) under the general FSSC 22000 and other applicable industry and company standards.
Job Function Statements Essential Functions
  • Maintain and implement effective quality programs, procedures, processes, goals, and methods to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, corporate quality policies, and applicable industry quality standards (i.e. FSSC, HACCP).
  • Manage all product and process audits and the corrective/preventive action system used to ensure compliance; manage all aspects of quality activities associated with third-party audits and requirements.
  • Prepares/analyzes integrated management reports (Key Drivers) for all quality systems, process and quality improvements and Balance Score Cards. Evaluates data for trends, investigates source of trend, and informs manager regarding information requiring further attention.
  • Coordinate new product testing and generate periodic Quality and Audit reports
  • Perform other duties as assigned
  • Regular and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position

Skills
  • Fundamental knowledge of quality systems (FSSC, SQF, BRC or SQMS).
  • Ability to work with a variety of audit methods (internal audits, third-party audits, regulatory audits) tools and techniques.
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments in a changing environment while still meeting business needs.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to communicate throughout the organization in written and verbal form.
  • Ability to work effectively and collaboratively within teams and at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities to achieve results in a dynamic environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software and AS400 operating systems

Experience
  • Minimum 1-3 years related experience in auditing.

Education/Training
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
  • Certified HACCP Manager (HACCP Alliance).
