Job description

Grounds Maintenance Supervisor
Reports To: Production Manager & Area Manager
Schedule: Year-Round, Full-Time Position

Position Overview
The Supervisor directs Groundskeeping Laborers while also performing driving duties to support field operations. This role ensures that all projects assigned to the team are completed according to contract specifications, timelines, and quality standards. The Supervisor guides the crew, maintains operational efficiency, and provides transportation of crews, equipment, and materials between job sites. Client communication is handled exclusively by the Production or Area Manager.
Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise and support a team of Groundskeeping Laborers in managing multiple projects.
  • Coordinate daily work schedules, task assignments, and allocation of crews, equipment, and materials to meet operation goals and budget requirements.
  • Independently prioritizes and assigns resources to meet operational demands.
  • Monitor project progress and quality; identify operational issues and escalate to the Area Manager.
  • Drive to and from job sites, transporting crews, materials, and equipment as needed.
  • Conducts site inspections and submits operational reports with recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure adherence to safety protocols and company policies for all team members and while driving.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to coordinators, fostering teamwork and professional development.
  • Exercises authority to recommend hiring, promotion, disciplinary action, and termination of field employees.
  • Maintain shared project documentation, including timesheets, work logs, and quality reports.
  • Perform additional operational or administrative tasks as assigned by the Production or Area Manager.

Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in landscaping, field operations, or project coordination preferred.
  • Previous supervisory or leadership experience preferred.
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record; ability to safely operate company vehicles.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively with a team.
  • Competency with basic computer applications (Microsoft Office, scheduling, or tracking software).
  • Ability to work outdoors and visit multiple job sites as required.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) communication skills a plus.

Work Schedule and Classification
This is a full-time salaried, overtime exempt position.
Schedules are designed to support the demands of specific projects assigned.
