As a Project Accounting & Capital Governance Manager, you lead the accounting operations that support our real estate and enterprise projects, third-party services and repairs & maintenance, ensuring financial accuracy, strong controls, and clear insight for decision makers. Day-to-Day Ingredients - Responsibilities
As a Project Accounting & Capital Governance Manager, you will:
  • Lead accounting operations for the business, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Perform month end reporting, budget vs actuals variance analysis and year end close processes
  • Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and financial results
  • Lead planning & analysis efforts pertaining to projects, capital and expense
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, policies, and internal controls
  • Analyze financial results to identify trends, risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Partner cross functionally to support business initiatives and decision making

What You Bring to the Table - Required Experience
As a Project Accounting & Capital Governance Manager, you must have:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6-9+ years of progressive accounting experience
  • Advanced Excel skills with strong data organization and process improvement capability
  • Experience managing accounting operations and close processes
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and capitalization vs. expense principles
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
  • Experience ensuring compliance with internal controls and accounting policies
  • Proven ability to meet tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Proven people leadership, coaching, and performance management skills

As a Project Accounting & Capital Governance Manager, we prefer you to have:
  • Experience supporting and accounting for construction projects, enterprise-related capital projects or similar business models from end to end.

Where & How You'll Work
This role is based at the San Antonio Home Office, working on-site Monday through Thursday with remote flexibility on Fridays. In this role, you'll have strong collaboration with leadership, across cross-functional teams, and with external partners to align capabilities with restaurant realities. The work environment is fast-paced and requires sound judgment, strategic thinking, and strong collaboration skills. Full-time availability is required, with occasional extended hours based on business needs, along with occasional travel to properties, project sites, and external meetings. Candidates must reside within commuting distance of the San Antonio Home Office.
