We are looking for an IT Support Engineer for our Concord facility. As an IT Support Engineer, you will report to the IT Director and are focused on providing technology support and security awareness to the organization. Daily tasks will include troubleshooting Windows desktop/laptops, networking equipment and iOS-based devices. Regular tasks will include various technology initiatives to ensure efficient business operations for Ashby Lumber.

AS AN IT SUPPORT ENGINEER, YOU WILL:

  • Provide IT support by troubleshooting and resolving OS, desktop applications, and mobile device issues
  • Prioritize, complete and escalate helpdesk tickets as required
  • Configure computer operating systems and applications
  • Manage VOIP phone system
  • Basic understanding of networking
  • Adhere to all security process and procedures
  • Follow policies and procedures to ensure all supported computer equipment are meeting business requirements and operating at peak performance

WHO YOU ARE:

The position requires a strong understanding of technology, fundamental computer skills, along with the desire to solve problems and think logically. Having great troubleshooting ability to respond in a timely manner with excellent verbal and written communication are key to succeeding in this role. The ideal candidate will maintain inventory and assetย configuration, participate in documentation of best practices, support procedures, and carry out special tasks at supervisor's direction.ย 

  • 2+ years of experience providing IT support or experience in related field
  • Ability to troubleshoot desktop applications such as Microsoft Office, Chrome, and other common desktop applications
  • Experience with Google Workspace
  • Ability to troubleshoot third-party software systemsย 
  • Working knowledge of and troubleshooting Windows 11 and Linux operating systemsย 
  • Supporting mobile devices, specifically using an MDM with iPhones and Android based devices
  • Experience troubleshooting printers
  • Experience supporting Audio/Video systems
  • Entry level understanding of Microsoft Domain Services such as Active Directory and Group Policies
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as being self-directed
  • Must be independent, self-motivated, detailed oriented, highly organized and able to multitask
  • Ability to support remote users
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Availability to work in our Concord, CA facility on a daily basis

BONUS EXPERIENCE:

  • PCI compliance and security issues
  • Epicor Eagle Point of Sale system management
  • Knowledge of Proxmox virtual environment and Proxmox Backup Server
  • Network configuration and management, including VLANs
  • Router and switch management, including Mikrotik and Ubiquiti devices
  • Experience with VPN overlay networks, specifically Tailscale and Zerotier
