Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in program management.
  • Experience in applying data analysis techniques to diagnose system issues and model future state scenarios.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience in software development or programming, and be comfortable reading or making minor code changes.
  • Ability to dive into an ambiguous data set and come up with insights.
  • Ability to conceive of and accept responsibility for projects and see them through to completion.
  • Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multitasking skills and excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a concise way to align non-experts and leadership.
  • Exceptional skills influencing, teaming, and delivering solutions in a highly complex, always changing, and nebulous environment.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you'll use your technical expertise to lead complex, multi-disciplinary projects from start to finish. You'll work with stakeholders to plan requirements, identify risks, manage project schedules, and communicate clearly with cross-functional partners across the company. You're equally comfortable explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical tradeoffs in product development with engineers.
In this role, you will be central to the advancement of Google's mission. You will be responsible for coordinating across all of Google's Engineering teams to solve some of the most challenging and novel problems in service management. You will work directly with Google's supply chain, data center infrastructure, networking, and software engineering teams to design and deliver the future state of resource management within Google. Your charter will include the identification of service efficiency at Google, the balancing of resource distribution against supply chain, data center infrastructure, network, shared service, and budgetary constraints, and the implementation of tools and policies to optimize resource management across the entire engineering stack at Google. You will seek to redefine the definition of an on-demand computing environment. Beyond program delivery and technical skills, you have experience in software product development, quantitative analytics, or supply chain management. You have the ability to synthesize strategic solutions to interdependent and broad problems.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $163,000-$237,000 bonus equity benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities
  • Lead operations and analytic projects related to the allocation and budgeting of internal storage resources and driving efficiency programs.
  • Support subsequent operations and analytic projects related to system modeling, supply chain management, and capacity planning needs for storage resources.
  • Play a key role in the advancement of strategy, policy, and supporting tools for operations. Provide scripting/tool development as well as requirements documentation as necessary.
  • Organize cross-functional teams to launch and deliver projects related to data architecture and process re-design around demand and supply-side compute resource management.
