Job description

HBC/GM Manager
Accountabilities:
  • Develops programs to position us to win in the marketplace.
  • To achieve sales, profit, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develops special sales: seasonal and other promotional themes that increase profit margins.
  • Responsible for ensuring shelves are properly stocked and organized and ability to perform physical task are crucial for this role. This includes reaching overhead with both arms up to a maximum of 84 inches, twisting at the waist and lifting objects with both hands weighing up to 30-50 lbs.
  • Responsible for setting planograms and able to carry out merchandising strategies/programs.
  • Responsible to handle daily paperwork, ordering product, rotating stock for freshness and doing cycle counts to help achieve accountability.
  • Responsible for selection and mix of products and SKU rationalization that best meet the needs of consumers.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of the monthly merchandising planner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Design exit strategies for seasonal and dated products.
  • Stays abreast of changes in the marketplace by visiting our stores and competition. Include visits to Walmart Supercenters and Food Lion.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • The incumbent should possess a high school diploma or equivalent experience with college degree is a plus.
  • Supermarket retail experience and have worked with Health Beauty Care/ General Merchandise or familiarity with the types of products typically found in the HBC/GM sections.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have computer skills, email, inventory software, spreadsheet software and word processing software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, leadership, multi-tasking with strong organizational skills. Strong interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong sense of time and urgency.
  • Attention to details is a must.
  • Able to work independently and with team.
