Job description

Affirm is reinventing credit to make it more honest and friendly, giving consumers the flexibility to buy now and pay later without any hidden fees or compounding interest.
At Affirm, our people are at the center of how we grow and operate globally. As a remote-first company, how we enable talent to live and work across location-while remaining compliant and scalable-is critical to our success. The Global Mobility team sits within People Operations and partners closely with Legal, Talent Acquisition, Total Rewards, and business leaders to design and deliver programs that enable global hiring, internal mobility, and long-term talent retention. We balance compliance with practical, business-friendly solutions that support Affirm's growth and deliver an exceptional employee experience.
We are seeking a Senior Manager, Global Mobility to lead and evolve Affirm's global mobility strategy-anchored in immigration as the core driver of this work, and complemented by remote work and global mobility programs. This role defines how Affirm hires, moves, and supports talent across borders. You will set the vision and build the frameworks that guide immigration sponsorship, remote work enablement, and temporary and permanent mobility, ensuring each is executed with clarity, consistency, and strong alignment to business priorities. Immigration is the largest and most critical component of this role. You will own a global immigration program with a significant focus on U.S. strategy, shaping sustainable, long-term pathways for talent while navigating an increasingly complex regulatory landscape.
As a senior leader in this space, you will operate at the intersection of business strategy, employee experience, and compliance. This role requires strong judgment, structured problem solving, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders. You will bring clarity to ambiguity, set direction in evolving areas, and translate complex regulatory requirements into scalable, practical solutions that support Affirm's growth.
What You'll Do:
  • Strategy Ownership: Own and evolve Affirm's global mobility strategy across immigration, remote work, and global assignments
  • Policy & Framework Design: Establish globally consistent policies and decision frameworks for immigration, cross-border work, and permanent transfers, with appropriate local flexibility
  • Operational Scale: Build scalable processes and tooling to support global mobility in a remote-first environment
  • Compliance & Risk Mitigation: Partner with internal Legal and external counsel to deliver compliant, forward-looking immigration and mobility programs
  • Leadership Advisory: Advise senior leaders on immigration, mobility, and location decisions, incorporating evolving regulatory requirements and impacts, and balancing business needs, cost, and employee experience
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner with Legal, Tax, Finance, Total Rewards, Payroll, Equity, and Talent to deliver aligned, business-relevant programs
  • Vendor Management: Lead vendor strategy and optimize partnerships with immigration counsel and mobility providers
  • Employee Experience & Communication: Translate complex requirements into clear, employee-friendly policies and guidance
  • Change Management & Enablement: Drive adoption of mobility frameworks through stakeholder education and enablement
  • Data & Insights: Establish and maintain reporting and analytics to track program effectiveness and inform decisions (e.g., timelines, SLAs, KPIs, compliance outcomes, employee experience)

What We Look For:
  • 10-12+ years of experience in global mobility and immigration, with deep expertise in U.S. immigration
  • Experience owning and evolving programs in a multi-jurisdiction, remote-first or distributed environment
  • Strong understanding of immigration, employment, and remote work compliance considerations
  • Demonstrated ability to operate at both strategic and operational levels
  • Proven experience influencing cross-functional and senior stakeholders
  • Strong judgment and ability to navigate ambiguity and complex tradeoffs
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complexity into clear, practical guidance
  • Experience managing vendors and building and scaling programs
