Job description

The Democratic Governors Association (DGA), the campaign committee responsible for electing and supporting Democratic Governors, is seeking an Independent Expenditure (IE) Fundraising Manager for the 2026 cycle. This position will support the DGA's Independent Expenditure Program, which operates independently of gubernatorial candidates and campaigns.
 
The position will be responsible for managing the flow of fundraising information within the IE team and with external partners; scheduling meetings and managing logistics; and ensuring fundraising deadlines are met. This position will report directly to the IE Director.
 
The expected salary range for this position is $75,000-$85,000 annually before benefits and applicable withholdings.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Manage IE fundraising and donor maintenance and correspondence;
  • Create memos and other briefing materials for donor meetings and provide other updates to the IE Director, partners, and consulting teams;
  • Coordinate scheduling and prompt communication between IE Director, donors, and other partner organizations;
  • Lead targeting and research to identify prospective new donors and re-engage lapsed donors across multiple states;
  • Facilitate timely, accurate, and legally compliant communication and information sharing across departments, including financial tracking and internal reporting.
  • Assist with the tracking and reconciliation of budgets for IE states;
  • Support the objectives of the IE team and other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
  • At least one cycle (1-3 years) of campaign fundraising experience. This is not an entry level position;
  • Familiarity with campaign independent expenditure structures is a bonus, but not required;
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously;
  • Operate well under pressure;
  • Extremely organized both for yourself and others;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Ability to work efficiently, autonomously, and be responsive;
  • Work well in a team environment;
  • Work long and irregular hours during peak campaign season
