Job description

Bolton & Menk has an exciting opportunity for a Funding Specialist to join our Corporate Funding Team team. This position could be located out of our Charlotte or Raleigh office locations. With over 75 years of experience, Bolton & Menk specializes in providing community infrastructure solutions across the Midwest, Southeast, and beyond.

In this role, you will be responsible for guiding the tracking, pursuit, and administration of funding programs that support Bolton & Menk services, primarily servicing North Carolina clients in the areas of water, wastewater, water resources, and disaster and resiliency funding. Some work may focus in Bolton & Menk's South Carolina market as well. Primary tasks may include: coordinating with staff from various divisions to review and prioritize funding programs that support the provided services; maintaining a tracking and communication plan for funding programs; collaborating with client service managers, practice area leaders, and clients to facilitate the identification and delivery of funding for Bolton & Menk projects; and guiding and supporting application and administration efforts.

We are looking for an organized and self-motivated individual who is eager to tackle efforts through a strategic lens, has strong problem-solving skills, enjoys collaborating with others, and preferably has prior public sector and/or federal/state funding program experience.

What You Will Be Doing:

  • Prepares funding program applications
  • Collaborates with project managers, agency contacts and clients on funding programs
  • Conducts research on new and emerging funding programs, as needed
  • Communicates funding program information to project managers and clients.
  • Completes or guides funding program administration in the following areas:
    • Start-up and close out checklists
    • Prevailing Wage compliance
    • Disbursement requests
    • Compliance reporting

What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Public Administration, Planning, Communications, Finance or similar field from an accredited college or university
  • 3 years of progressive experience
  • Experience public sector loan and/or grant program administration preferred
  • Proficient computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent time management and organization skills
