Job description

About Upcrunch, Inc.

Upcrunch, Inc., established in Los Angeles in 2016, is a licensed finance lender/broker helping small and medium-sized businesses access quick and straightforward funding. We offer solutions including business lines of credit, revenue-based funding (up to $2M), equipment financing, working capital, invoice factoring, and more—often funded in as little as 24–48 hours. Our mission is to simplify business financing so owners can focus on growth.

Job Summary

The Funding Specialist serves as the primary point of contact for incoming small business inquiries, providing responsive, consultative support via phone, email, and SMS. You will assess each business's profile, recommend the most suitable funding options from Upcrunch's offerings, clearly explain lender terms, and ensure accurate data entry to move applications forward efficiently. This role combines customer service, financial analysis, and attention to detail in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to incoming Small Business inquiries in a timely manner via phone, email, and SMS, delivering professional, helpful, and prompt communication
  • Develop and maintain a firm understanding of the funding options that Upcrunch provides, including lines of credit, revenue-based funding, equipment financing, working capital, invoice factoring, and partner lender programs
  • Perform organized and detailed data entry in the CRM system (e.g., capturing business financials, application details, notes, and follow-ups) to support accurate processing and compliance
  • Actively listen to Small Business Owners during consultations to analyze their company profile, revenue trends, funding needs, credit history, and goals
  • Recommend and explain the best funding option(s) tailored to their specific situation, highlighting benefits, approval criteria, speed, repayment structures, and any associated fees
  • Clearly explain lender terms and conditions to Small Business Owners in an understandable, transparent way, addressing questions and objections to build trust
  • Collaborate with sales, underwriting, and funding teams to expedite approvals and disbursements
  • Track inquiry progress, maintain detailed records, and follow up as needed to improve conversion rates and client satisfaction
  • Stay updated on industry regulations, small business lending trends, and Upcrunch product updates

Qualifications & Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field preferred
  • 1 to 3+ years of experience in customer service, financial services, loan processing, business lending, fintech, or a consultative sales/support role; experience with small business funding is a plus
  • Strong active listening, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain complex financial terms clearly and empathetically
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills and proficiency in CRM systems (Salesforce or similar preferred) and Google Workspace/Microsoft Office
  • Comfortable handling high-volume inbound communications (phone, email, SMS) in a metrics-driven environment
  • Basic understanding of small business financials (e.g., revenue, cash flow, credit) and lending concepts
  • Self-motivated, patient, and resilient with a customer-first mindset
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

Compensation & Benefits

  • Compensation: Base Pay of $18 - 23/hour DOE + Commission
  • 401(k), paid time off, and paid holidays
  • Ongoing sales training, mentorship, and career advancement opportunities
  • Modern office in Downtown Los Angeles with hybrid flexibility
