Position Overview


As a Lien Negotiator, you will play a critical role in maximizing client recoveries by independently negotiating and resolving medical liens on settled personal injury cases. We are seeking an experienced professional who can confidently manage the lien resolution process from start to finish while collaborating with attorneys and case managers to ensure timely case resolution.


Please Note: This position requires prior, hands-on lien negotiation experience within a plaintiff personal injury law firm. Applicants without direct lien negotiation experience will not be considered.


Responsibilities

  • Independently negotiate and resolve medical liens on settled personal injury cases
  • Communicate directly with hospitals, medical providers, health insurance carriers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders
  • Review settlement statements and analyze lien balances to identify opportunities for reductions
  • Obtain, review, and reconcile final lien balances before settlement disbursement
  • Prepare and maintain accurate lien documentation and settlement records
  • Ensure timely follow-up with lienholders and maintain consistent communication throughout the negotiation process
  • Collaborate with attorneys, case managers, and settlement teams to facilitate efficient case resolution
  • Prioritize and manage a high-volume caseload while consistently meeting deadlines
  • Maintain accurate case notes and documentation within the firm's case management system
Requirements:
  • Minimum of 2 years of direct lien negotiation experience within a plaintiff personal injury law firm is require
  • Demonstrated experience independently negotiating medical liens from start to finish is required
  • Experience negotiating with medical providers, hospitals, health insurance carriers, Medicare, Medi-Cal, ERISA plans, and other lienholders
  • Strong understanding of the personal injury settlement and lien resolution process
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Experience with Filevine or comparable case management software is preferred
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Hourly Range: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
