Position Summary Information
Job Description Summary
In support of the Student Affairs Learning Outcomes and under the direction from the Manager, Student Activities, the Student Activity Funding Assistant supports with the internal and/or external aspects of student funding for the Student Activity Fee Advisory Committee (SAFAC). The Student Activity Funding Assistant is a member of the Department of Student Engagement and the Division of Student Affairs.
Responsibilities
External Student Funding
  • Assist with compiling necessary funding application materials, agendas, and minutes for weekly SAFAC review.
  • Actively monitor PantherConnect and Submittable for funding application submissions.
  • Document funding application information in Excel for record keeping purposes.
  • Notify all individuals, organizations, and departments as to the funding decisions made by SAFAC.
Internal Student Funding
  • Compile Non-PO payment requests to ensure all necessary documentation is attached and accurate for the Lead Student Activity Funding Assistant to process.
  • Actively monitor PantherConnect for payment request submissions.
  • Document payment request information in Excel for record keeping purposes.
Administrative
  • Communicate effectively both in person and through email with students and student/campus organizations on proper utilization of funding, university fiscal policy, SAFAC funding criteria, and missing information.
  • Maintain understanding of university and fiscal policy.
  • Attend meetings with supervisor, as needed.
  • Participate in and contribute to Department of Student Engagement programs, services, experiences, and resources as determined by supervisor.
  • Maintain positive working relationships with campus partners from academic/administrative departments (University Financial Services, Purchasing, etc.)
  • Use Panther Connect, SharePoint, and other university systems appropriately and as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Maintain professional and timely communication.
Desired Qualifications
  • A major in business, economics, or accounting is preferred.
