Job description

Overview

We are seeking an Inside Sales Representative with a strong technical or engineering background to support our front-end sales process. This role is focused on understanding customer requirements, gathering complete technical information, and coordinating internally to move opportunities toward production.

You will collaborate directly with customers and internal engineering to define product specifications and ensure all necessary details are captured for accurate quoting and successful manufacturing.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Intake & Evaluation: Review customer inquiries, drawings, and specifications to assess feasibility and requirements
  • Information Gathering: Collect all necessary technical details including materials, dimensions, tolerances, and application requirements
  • Pre-Sale Customer Communication: Work with customers to clarify specifications and ensure complete, accurate information
  • Engineering Collaboration: Partner with engineering to validate product design and manufacturing approach
  • Estimating Coordination: Submit complete job information to the estimating team for quote generation
  • Opportunity Tracking: Manage and track inquiries from initial contact through order placement
Qualifications

Qualifications

  • Prior inside sales, B2B sales, application engineering, or similar experience in a manufacturing or technical environment
  • Strong technical or engineering background is required (mechanical, industrial, or related field)
  • Ability to understand product specifications, materials, and manufacturing processes
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and blueprints
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Clear and effective communication skills, especially with technical information
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a demanding environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)

Education:

  • College degree is not required
  • Relevant technical training or hands-on engineering experience is strongly preferred
