Join a stable and growing manufacturing operation where your expertise will make a direct impact every day. We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Maintenance Mechanic to take ownership of equipment reliability and serve as the go-to technical resource for our production team.

In this key leadership role, you'll combine hands-on mechanical work with problem-solving, mentoring, and operational support. You'll be trusted to diagnose and resolve equipment issues, drive preventive maintenance initiatives, and help ensure our production lines operate safely and efficiently. Your knowledge and leadership will play a critical role in minimizing downtime, improving productivity, and supporting continuous improvement efforts throughout the facility.

This position is ideal for a seasoned maintenance professional who enjoys being the person others turn to for answers, takes pride in keeping equipment running at peak performance, and is ready to step into a leadership role with a company that values technical expertise, accountability, and teamwork.


  • Serve as the lead maintenance technician and first point of contact for mechanical equipment issues.
  • Provide guidance, training, and technical support to maintenance team members and machine operators.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and basic electrical systems on rubber processing equipment, including extruders, mixers, and molding machines.
  • Perform preventive maintenance to maximize equipment uptime and reliability.
  • Respond quickly and effectively to equipment breakdowns and production interruptions.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, mechanical diagrams, technical manuals, and schematics.
  • Document maintenance activities using maintenance logs or computerized maintenance systems.
  • Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and process improvements.
  • Partner with production, quality, and safety teams to improve operational performance.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), machine guarding, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • 4-5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in the rubber or plastics industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Experience with industrial manufacturing equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Proficiency with hand and power tools.
  • Welding and fabrication experience is beneficial.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in industrial conditions, including heat, noise, and extended periods of standing.

  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to mentor and support team members.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to coordinate maintenance priorities and serve as the trusted technical resource for production and maintenance personnel.
