What is wet milling?

Wet milling is a process used in various industries, such as food processing and chemical manufacturing, to break down raw materials like grains or corn using water or other liquids. This method softens the material, allowing it to be separated into its component parts, such as starch, protein, and fiber. Wet milling is commonly used in the production of corn syrup, ethanol, and other food ingredients because it allows for higher yields and purer end products compared to dry milling. The process typically involves soaking, grinding, and separating the material into different fractions. Wet milling is valued for its efficiency and ability to produce high-quality products.
