This role blends hands-on editing with essential assistant editor responsibilities. From organizing and logging a continuous flow of footage to building selects, string-outs, and cuts that uncover the de-extinction story as it unfolds. This position is based on-site full time in Dallas, TX.

  • Contribute to brand sizzles and exploratory edits
  • Support video shorts and formatting for multiple distribution platforms

Post-Production Workflow
  • Assist with importing media and organizing raw footage
  • Maintain clean project structures and asset libraries
  • Help manage and organize the internal video library for easy access and reuse

Audio & Finishing
  • Assist with basic audio editing, synchronization, and cleanup
  • Source music and support light sound design when needed
  • Perform basic color correction to ensure visual consistency

Preferred Qualifications
  • Foundational AE + editing skills with strong instincts for pacing and storytelling
  • Experience editing for social platforms and understanding of platform-specific formats
  • Proficiency in Premiere Pro (After Effects a plus)
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail in post-production workflows
  • Experience with AI-driven post-production tools and automation techniques is a plus
  • Interest in science, technology, and de-extinction

What Colossal Offers Full-Time Employees:
  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • Excellent paid time off and company holidays so you can rest and recharge
  • Flexible spending accounts (FSA)
  • Company matched 401k retirement plan
  • Paid parental leave at 100% salary for up to 12 weeks
  • Education reimbursement
  • An opportunity to help us return the Earth to a healthier state
