To thrive as a Full Time Estate Manager, you need expertise in property management, budgeting, staff supervision, and often a background in hospitality or facilities management. Exceptional organizational skills, discretion, leadership, and strong interpersonal communication set top candidates apart. These competencies ensure seamless estate operations, effective team leadership, and the satisfaction and security of property owners and residents.

What are some common challenges faced by Full Time Estate Managers, and how can these be addressed?

Full Time Estate Managers often juggle a wide range of responsibilities, from overseeing property maintenance and managing staff to coordinating events and handling budgets. A common challenge is balancing urgent tasks with long-term planning, especially when unexpected issues arise, such as repairs or staffing shortages. Developing strong organizational skills, maintaining clear communication with property owners and staff, and implementing efficient systems for scheduling and reporting can help address these challenges and ensure the smooth operation of the estate.

Job description

Estate Manager Aspen, Colorado | Full-Time | $180,000–$200,000

This role is open nationwide, but we're looking for someone who already understands mountain living - ideally the Aspen area - and can step in without a learning curve.

THE ROLE

A private family with two adjacent properties in Aspen is looking for a senior-level Estate Manager to take full ownership of their homes. This isn't a position where you wait for direction. You see what needs to be done, you handle it, and you hold the standard whether the family is there or not.

The properties are occupied selectively throughout the year, which means the job doesn't pause between visits. When the family arrives, everything is ready. If you take genuine pride in a home that runs without anyone noticing the effort, this role was built for you.

RESPONSIBILITES

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for all operations, maintenance, and hospitality across the properties
  • Manage household staff and a trusted network of vendors and service providers
  • Keep the homes guest-ready at all times - prepared to welcome the family and their guests with minimal notice
  • Oversee all preventive maintenance and small repairs across both residences
  • Manage operating budgets, approve invoices, and report regularly to the Director of Estate Operations
  • Maintain estate vehicles and all personal property on-site
  • Coordinate security systems and protocols with the family's security provider
  • Plan and execute events and guest experiences with a hospitality-first mindset
  • Keep the estate manual current and reflective of expectations at all times
  • Manage HOA relationships and maintain a positive presence in the surrounding community
  • Stay closely aligned with the broader operations team on scheduling, compliance, and coordination

WHO YOU ARE

You're independent, discreet, and service-oriented to your core. You've spent years running private residences at a high level, and you understand the difference between a well-maintained home and a truly exceptional one. Mountain environments - seasonal demands, remote logistics, the culture of a place like Aspen - feel familiar to you, not like obstacles.

People trust you quickly: staff, vendors, neighbors, and family members of all ages. You don't need to be the most visible person in the room. You just need everything to work.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 7 years of full-time experience as a private Estate Manager, ideally with a hospitality background
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish,  written and spoken,  preferred
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable with smart home and building automation systems
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Must live within approximately 20–30 minutes of the properties
  • Must pass a thorough background check and reference verification
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • Starting salary of $180,000–$200,000, commensurate with experience
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and paid time off
  • Housing or housing support in the Aspen area provided
  • The family is invested in making sure the right person is set up to thrive - not just in the role, but in the community
