Job description

Performance Driven Workforce (PDW) is now hiring Full-time Automotive Mechanics to support an automotive Tier 1 supplier in Allen Park, MI. We are seeking motivated candidates to join our growing team who have a minimum of 1-year hands-on automotive mechanic experience and are ready to apply their skills to experimental prototype vehicles and retrofits. Candidates meeting the requirements for this Full-time Automotive Mechanic position below are strongly encouraged to apply.
Requirements:
  • Must have a minimum of 1-year automotive repair experience in a shop environment including but not limited to removing the dashboard and replacing airbags, engine, drivetrain, suspension, brakes, tires, struts, etc.
  • Must have automotive mechanic ability to operate shop equipment, (e.g., vehicle hoist, lifts, tire machine, diagnostic tools, OBD-ll scanner, digital multimeter, strut compressor, etc.)
  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Own your own tools with a rolling lockable toolbox, (if not, PDW offers a toolbox program)
  • Ability to read and follow technical instructions, schematics, and written procedures
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
Preferred qualifications but not required:
  • Valid driver’s license and good driving record
  • ASE certifications
  • Ford experience
Responsibilities:
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain prototype vehicles
  • Perform a variety of mechanical, electrical, and diagnostic tasks
  • Keep shop equipment operating by following operating instructions, troubleshooting breakdowns, performing preventive maintenance and calling for repairs
  • Work closely with engineers and test teams to troubleshoot issues
  • Maintain accurate repair and service documentation
  • Ensure a safe and organized work environment
Shifts:
  • AM day shift amp; PM night shift: Monday – Friday, plus overtime amp; weekends as needed
