What is a fancy name for an office manager?

A fancy or more formal term for an office manager is often 'Administrative Director' or 'Operations Manager.' These titles emphasize leadership and strategic responsibilities within office administration and may be used to convey a higher level of authority or specialization. Such titles are common in corporate environments and can reflect the scope of duties or organizational hierarchy.

What job makes $10,000 a month without a degree?

A freelance office manager can potentially earn $10,000 a month by managing multiple clients, leveraging organizational skills, and using tools like project management software. Success depends on experience, client base, and efficiency, often requiring strong communication and administrative skills but not necessarily a formal degree.

How does a Freelance Office Manager typically balance responsibilities across multiple clients or projects?

As a Freelance Office Manager, you'll often juggle administrative tasks for several clients simultaneously, requiring strong organizational and time management skills. It's common to set clear expectations with each client regarding communication, deadlines, and availability. Utilizing project management tools, setting regular check-ins, and maintaining detailed records help ensure that each client's needs are met efficiently. This dynamic environment can be both rewarding and challenging, offering exposure to different industries and the opportunity to build a diverse professional network.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Freelance Office Manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Freelance Office Manager, you need strong organizational skills, experience in office administration, and often a background in business or management. Familiarity with office software suites like Microsoft Office or Google Workspace, as well as project management tools such as Asana or Trello, is typically required. Excellent communication, time management, and problem-solving abilities are valuable soft skills that help you manage tasks and client relationships effectively. These combined skills ensure efficient office operations, client satisfaction, and the ability to adapt to diverse business environments.

What jobs pay $500,000 a year in the US?

In the context of a freelance office manager, earning $500,000 annually is uncommon and typically requires senior-level roles such as executive assistants to high-level executives, or specialized consulting positions with significant experience and client base. High earnings in administrative or management roles often depend on industry, location, and individual expertise, and such income levels are more typical in executive or entrepreneurial positions rather than standard office management. Freelance office managers aiming for high income may need to expand their services, develop niche skills, or manage multiple clients simultaneously.

What is the highest paid office manager?

The highest paid office managers typically earn over $80,000 annually, with salaries increasing in large corporations, specialized industries, or with extensive experience and advanced skills. Executive or senior office managers in certain sectors can earn six-figure salaries, especially when combined with management responsibilities or additional certifications.

What does a Freelance Office Manager do?

A Freelance Office Manager is a self-employed professional who oversees the daily operations of an office on a contract or project basis, rather than as a full-time employee. Their responsibilities typically include organizing administrative systems, managing office supplies, coordinating schedules, handling communications, and ensuring the smooth running of office activities. Freelance Office Managers may work remotely or on-site, and they often serve multiple clients, adapting to the unique needs of each organization. This flexible arrangement allows businesses to access expert office management without the commitment of a permanent hire.

Office Manager (Part-time)

Manyone

New York, NY • On-site

$25 - $35/hr

Part-time

Posted 23 days ago

Job description

Hi! We are Manyone.
We're looking for an Office Manager to be the steady heartbeat of our Brooklyn studio - the person who keeps the space running beautifully, the team supported, and our clients impressed the moment they walk in. This is a part-time role (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday afternoons, 3-5 PM) with the flexibility to flex up around events, client presentations, and team moments that don't always fit inside a 3-to-5 window.
You'll work closely with our NYC leadership and collaborate across disciplines - designers, strategists, project managers, and visiting colleagues from our global offices. If you love the details, care about how a space feels, and get a kick out of making things run smoothly, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
Facilities & Office Space
  • Check supplies (coffee, paper, printer ink, pantry) and place weekly orders
  • Coordinate with building management on anything affecting day-to-day office life
  • Keep the studio client-ready - a tidy kitchen, a running dishwasher, a space that looks and feels cared for
  • Manage bike storage, commuter logistics, and guest access
  • Handle incoming mail and packages

Admin
  • Process invoices and receipts, and route them to accounting/bookkeeping

People & Culture
  • Coordinate team lunches, offsites, and social moments
  • Manage onboarding logistics for new hires and freelancers

IT & Equipment
  • Troubleshoot basic tech issues or coordinate with IT support
  • Keep printers and studio equipment in good shape

Scheduling & Coordination
  • Manage conference room bookings
  • Coordinate courier pickups and deliveries (samples, print proofs, swag)
  • Schedule building maintenance and vendor visits
  • Book flights and accommodation for the team's business travel

Vendors & Logistics
  • Manage relationships with local vendors (print shops, fabricators, catering)
  • Handle FedEx/UPS shipments and coordinate with the loading dock when needed
  • Prepare for client presentations - tech setup, catering, seating

Communications
  • Coordinate with freelancers on access, NDAs, and desk assignments

Events
  • Provide practical support before, during, and after studio events
  • Review event expenses and receipts
  • Source suppliers (catering, logistics, rentals)

What We're Looking For
  • Experience in office management, studio management, or a similar operations role - ideally in a creative, agency, or design-driven environment
  • A sharp eye for detail and a sense of hospitality - you notice when something's off and quietly fix it before anyone else does
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle vendors, deliveries, and small fires without losing your cool
  • Clear, warm communicator - comfortable working with colleagues, freelancers, vendors, and clients
  • Self-directed and reliable during the hours you're on-site, with flexibility to flex up around events
  • Based within a reasonable commute to Dumbo
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.

Plus Points
  • Using AI to experiment with task automation - if you've found clever ways to streamline repeatable work, we'd love to hear about it

What We Offer
  • A front-row seat in a studio doing ambitious, globally-minded design work
  • A tightly-knit team that genuinely enjoys working together
  • A beautiful studio space in Dumbo, Brooklyn
  • The chance to shape how our New York office runs as we continue to grow
  • Part-time schedule with predictable on-site afternoons (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, 3-5 PM)
  • Flexibility to work additional hours around studio events
  • Hourly rate: $25 - $35 / hour, based on experience
