Job description

Onward Education is partnering with a local school district in Maricopa County, AZ to hire Special Education Teachers to support resource room programs at the middle school and K-8 levels. This is an on-site opportunity for educators who enjoy small-group instruction, targeted intervention, and close collaboration with general education teams.
In this role, you'll provide specialized instruction in a pull-out/resource setting, delivering small-group and/or 1:1 support aligned to IEP goals. Students typically spend most of their day in general education and come to the resource room for targeted services (e.g., reading, math, executive functioning, social skills).
Position Details:

  • Role: Special Education Teacher - Resource (Middle & K-8)
  • Location: On-site (Maricopa County, AZ)
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week | 8 hours/day

Responsibilities:
  • Provide small-group and individual specially designed instruction in a resource/pull-out setting.
  • Implement IEPs and deliver instruction aligned to IEP goals and service minutes.
  • Collaborate with general education teachers and related service providers to support inclusion and progress.
  • Collect and document data to monitor student growth; adjust instruction as needed.
  • Support progress reporting and maintain compliant special education documentation.
  • Participate in team meetings (IEP meetings, problem-solving, planning) as needed.

Qualifications:
  • Active Arizona Department of Education (ADE) certificate with a Special Education emphasis,
  • Experience supporting students in a resource/pull-out model preferred.
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaboration skills.
