Job description

POSITION SUMMARY:  

To ensure that dough is made according to recipe. Vernon facility 

 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:  

  • Mixes dough according to the procedure sheet or as directed by supervisor or manager. 
  • Makes sure that ingredients are suitable. 
  • Accurately weights and measures ingredients. 
  • Records dough times, temperatures, and ingredient usage on every batch of dough. 
  • Enters lot numbers on mixing sheet. 
  • Controls dough floor times to ensure a consistent finished product. 
  • Follows J&J Snack Food's Food Safety Plan (FSP), the Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program, the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and the Good Documentation Practices (GDPs). 
  • Follows all OSHA safety rules and all food safety laws and regulations. 
  • Other duties as assigned.

To perform this job successfully, the Mixer must be self-motivated, able to problem solve, detail-oriented, and able to stay on task. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:  

  1. Education and training: PreferHighSchool diploma or GED. 
  2. Job-related experience: Requiresminimum6 months experience in mixing or batching ingredients in the food industry. 
  3. Managerial experience: N/A
  4. Technical knowledge and skills:
  • Ability to safely operate industrial food mixer. 
  • Must be able to speak, read & write basic English. 
  • Must be able to do basic arithmetic. 

Required Education: Prefer High School diploma or GED. 

Required Experience:  

  • Requires minimum 6 months experience in mixing or batching ingredients in the food industry. 
  • Ability to safely operate industrial food mixer. 
  • Must be able to speak, read & write basic English. 
  • Must be able to do basic arithmetic.
