Job description

Overview:
Quantam Solutions provides IT solutions and consulting for various clients. We offer competitive hourly wages, health benefits, paid time off, and a 401(k) plan. We are currently seeking a Third Shift Help Desk Technician.
Work Location
  • 1266 Louisville Road, Frankfort, KY
  • Candidates located in Kentucky are preferred.
  • This position is fully onsite. Telecommuting is not an option.

Due to FBI policies and guidelines applicable to this role, individuals working on the Help Desk must be U.S. citizens.
Position Overview
  • The Information Technology Branch is seeking individuals to work on the Help Desk (Tier 1) as a Help Desk Technician. The Help Desk is a 24/7/365 support center for network and system operations and provides Information Technology phone and remote support for law enforcement agencies throughout the Commonwealth.
  • This is a contractor position supporting the Help Desk Team.
  • Interviews will be conducted via Microsoft Teams or in person at 1266 Louisville Road, Frankfort, KY.

Shift Schedule
One contractor needed for third shift.
  • Sunday-Wednesday, 12:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m.

Additional shift information:
  • Occasional temporary changes in shifts are possible to provide adequate coverage. Temporary changes will be coordinated with the contract employee first.
  • When other shifts open, seniority is used to fill those shifts.
  • The first month on the job will be day shift, Monday-Friday, 8:00 a.m.-4:30 p.m., to allow for training before moving to the permanent shift schedule.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for incoming Help Desk calls and create tickets.
  • Troubleshoot problems with desktops, notebooks, Mobile Data Terminals, in-car video recorders, printers, network connectivity, other law enforcement technology, and related equipment.
  • Use remote tools to help resolve hardware and software issues.
  • Collect data for support personnel and create tickets for Tier 2 and higher-level support.
  • Perform standard Help Desk and operational functions, including entering, executing, and monitoring production systems.
  • Assist with and maintain the Criminal Justice Information System (CJIS) Kentucky network.
  • Perform other tasks and duties as assigned or needed by the agency.

  • Working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to remain professional and courteous.

Requirements
  • Must submit to a fingerprint-supported background check through the automated system using IdentGO. The cost is $20 per background check, paid by either the vendor or contractor.
