At EY, we’re all in to shape your future with confidence.

We’ll help you succeed in a globally connected powerhouse of diverse teams and take your career wherever you want it to go. Join EY and help to build a better working world.

The opportunity

EY-Parthenon’s unique combination of transformative strategy, transactions and corporate finance delivers real-world value – solutions that work in practice, not just on paper. Benefiting from EY’s full spectrum of services, we’ve reimagined strategic consulting to work in a world of increasing complexity.

With deep functional and sector expertise, paired with innovative AI-powered technology and an investor mindset, we partner with CEOs, Boards, Private Equity and Governments every step of the way – enabling you to shape your future with confidence.

Within EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution sub service line, the Deal Management – Financial Services practice works on the most complex and high-profile global transactions in the financial services sector. You will prepare and execute separation and integration plans, identify ideas and sources of value enhancement, as well as advise on risk mitigation and the successful change of operations, functions and people. You have the opportunity to develop your career through a broad scope of engagements, mentoring and formal learning.

Your key responsibilities

As a Senior Director with EY-Parthenon's Strategy and Execution Deal Management – Financial Services practice, you will be a vital member of the team leading and executing operational focused projects. You'll execute and manage projects supporting our client service team in developing and executing strategies for transactions. You will also be focusing a portion of your time on business and practice development as well as developing team members to achieve their goals.

Skills and attributes for success
  • Project Management - lead project teams comprising colleagues from across the EY-Parthenon sub-service lines.

  • Business and Commercially Driven - working in a fast-paced, exciting environment with strong business acumen to drive value to our clients.

  • Business Development - drive client pursuits, including presentations and client meetings. Contribute to our practice development initiatives, supporting the continued focus on our team as a great place to work.

  • People Development - coach and mentor staff in the achievement of their career goals.

  • Building Relationships - Strong working relationships with senior clients, including influence, advice and support to key decision makers.

To qualify for the role, you must have
  • A bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Engineering, Computer Science, or Analytics and 8 years of related work experience; or a graduate degree and approximately 7 years of related work experience.

  • MBA is preferred.

  • Significant experience in an M&A consulting environment working with financial services clients, including banking, capital markets, asset management, and/or insurance.

  • Excellent analytical skills and the confidence to translate complex data into meaningful insights.

  • Experience in business integrations, divestitures, and/or carve-outs with a demonstrated aptitude for quantitative and qualitative analysis.

  • Experience leading and managing in complex business environments.

  • The ability to prioritize effectively on projects and the skills to adapt quickly to new challenges and concepts.

  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skills, and the ability to develop long-lasting relationships both internally and externally.

  • You must either reside in or be in a commutable distance to your office location for this position.

  • The ability and willingness to travel and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. In certain circumstances, travel may be required beyond your work location based on client and project needs.

Ideally, you will have
  • A proven record of excellence in a mergers or acquisitions transactions role.

  • Experience gained within another large professional services organization.

  • Knowledge of how to leverage firm-approved AI tools in a business setting, including Microsoft Copilot.

  • Established networking skills in a relevant industry.
