Job description

Extractions Lab Technician ? Laboratory Operations- Indianapolis, INย 
ย 

We areย seekingย a self-motivated,ย Full-Time Extractions Lab Technicianย to join our Laboratory Operations team. Under the supervision of a Laboratory Manager, the Extractions Technicianย is responsible forย preparing biological specimens for analysis usingย confirmationย instrument technology. This includes handling urine and oral fluid specimens, performing sample preparation and extraction of analytes, andย maintainingย strict adherence toย chainย of custody documentation.ย 

Shift:ย M-F 8am-430pm (to be discussed during the interview process)ย 
Pay Rate:ย $20.00 per hourย 
Shift Differential:ย Additional $2.00/hour for hours worked between 6:00 PM and 6:00 AMย 

Primary Responsibilitiesย 

  • Aliquot urine and/or oral fluid specimens for sample preparation proceduresย 
  • Perform sample preparation techniques including specimen hydrolysis, solid phase extraction, and liquid-liquid extractionย in accordance withย laboratory SOPsย 
  • Prepare samples for liquid chromatography tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS-MS) analysisย 
  • Prepare and restock reagents and buffers as neededย 
  • Assistย withย maintainingย adequate inventory of laboratory suppliesย 
  • Troubleshoot issues as necessary and escalate when appropriateย 
  • Maintainย accurateย records associated with specimen preparation and chain of custodyย 
  • Perform other duties as assigned, consistent with education, training, and abilitiesย 

Qualificationsย 

  • Bachelor?s degree in a science-related fieldย requiredย (Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biomedical/Pre-Med, Forensics, or Toxicology)ย 
  • Laboratory experience preferredย 
  • Data entry skills (alpha and numeric keyboarding)ย requiredย 
  • Strong hand-eye coordinationย requiredย 
  • Ability to work in a high-volume environment whileย maintainingย a high levelย of quality and accuracyย requiredย
