Global Field Representative (Expat)

The Boeing Company is seeking a highly motivated and skilled Senior Global Field Representative for a 2-year expatriate assignment in Niigata, Japan (Long-term international assignment) supporting the Global Field Operations (GFO) team.

This is a Long-Term Assignment to Niigata, Japan for up to 2 years. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international location will be provided.

Global Field Operations (GFO) is building an elite organization with technical expertise and skills to triage, recover, and sustain our supply chain. This team is deployed to supplier challenges to restore production stability, recover delivery performance, eliminate systemic constraints, and protect Boeing customer commitments.
The Global Field Representatives serve as Boeing's on-site operational leaders, partnering directly with supplier executives, factory leadership, and Boeing stakeholders to drive sustainable operational improvements across manufacturing, planning, quality, and supply chain systems. This expatriate assignment requires building trusted relationships while representing Boeing at one of our most strategically important supplier locations in Japan.
Assignments may include major aerostructures, interiors, systems, machining, composites, sheet metal fabrication, special processing, and multi-tier supply chain recovery efforts. Successful candidates thrive in complex manufacturing environments, possess deep shop-floor credibility, and demonstrate exceptional leadership, problem-solving, and execution skills while working.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead supplier recovery engagements at strategic manufacturing and supply chain locations.

  • Conduct Gemba-based assessments of manufacturing operations, production systems, labor utilization, inventory health, material flow, capacity, and schedule performance.

  • Develop and execute actionable recovery plans focused on throughput, delivery performance, quality, and operational stability.

  • Drive demand alignment between Boeing requirements and supplier execution plans.

  • Lead Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) activities and ensure sustainable corrective actions are implemented.

  • Establish daily management systems, KPI reviews, accountability mechanisms, and recovery governance structures.

  • Partner directly with supplier executives, factory leadership, and Boeing stakeholders to remove barriers to execution.

  • Support work transfers, capacity expansion, surge activities, and operational transformations.

  • Develop supplier capability through coaching, mentoring, and implementation of best practices.

  • Provide executive-level communication regarding recovery status, risks, constraints, and recommendations.

  • Demonstrate strong leadership by influence, cross-functional collaboration, and a bias for execution in high-pressure environments.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Level 4: 7+ years of experience in manufacturing, operations, industrial engineering, supply chain management, supplier management, or operational excellence.

  • Manufacturing and operations experience.

  • Experience leading operational improvement, recovery, turnaround, or production stabilization initiatives.

  • Strong analytical problem-solving and RCCA experience.

  • Experience assessing and improving manufacturing systems and production performance.

  • Experience with demand alignment, production planning, scheduling, and execution management.

  • Must be fluent in both Japanese and English.

  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Must be able to travel at least 25% of the time domestically and internationally, must hold or have the ability to hold a valid passport.

  • Must possess expertise in at least two of the following: Assembly Operations, CNC Machining, Composites Manufacturing, Outside Processing, Sheet Metal Fabrication, Heavy Structures Manufacturing.

  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country.

  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable.

  • Employment is contingent on the candidate's ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Level 5: 10+ years of relevant experience and education.

  • Boeing program experience.

  • Aerospace manufacturing experience.

  • Procurement and supplier management experience.

  • MRP/ERP systems expertise.

  • Sub-tier supplier management experience.

  • Integrated scheduling and project management experience.

  • Data analytics and performance management experience.

  • Technical drawing and specification evaluation experience.

  • Quality systems, regulatory quality, and process control experience.

  • Lean, Six Sigma, Industrial Engineering, or Operations Excellence certification.

  • Experience working in global and cross-cultural business environments.

  • Bachelor's degree or higher.

Relocation:

Relocation benefits from the base work location to the international location will be provided. This will also include repatriation benefits to the last base work location.
