Job description

The Insights discipline helps empower Rioters' decision-making to be more data-informed and put player experience at the forefront. We're an interdisciplinary group of scientists, consultants, and strategists from all sorts of backgrounds who join together to represent and advocate for players around the world. We believe that illuminating the globally diverse experiences, behaviors, and needs of players is critical to Riot living up to our player-focused mission. We're a group united by our love of games, science, and helping others succeed.

As the Principal Insights Analyst on Teamfight Tactics, you will lead the AXE (Acquisition, eXpression and Events) Insights pod, playing a crucial role in TFT's long term revenue health. The focus of this role is on managing and coordinating work in a challenging multi team environment that drives TFT's monetization strategy. You will own the roadmap for all Insights work that supports the AXE Initiative. You will define and manage work streams to understand our monetizers, assess product performance, identify future opportunities and guide experimentation. Working with product leaders you'll be a strategic thought partner in developing a robust revenue and events strategy that sustains TFT for years to come. AXE has Insights and Product teams in Los Angeles and Singapore and you'll collaborate both locations to generate impactful insights that inform all aspects of monetization, from new product development to tuning distribution systems. This position is located at our global headquarters in Santa Monica CA, and reports to the TFT Games Insights Lead.

Responsibilities:
  • Partner with the AXE Initiative Product Lead and Product Managers to develop and maintain a revenue strategy that maximises TFT's business model in a sustainable and player-focused manner
  • Lead the AXE Insights pod:
    • Manage the team's roadmap, coordinating work between the Los Angeles and Singapore teams to ensure effective identification and prioritization of work
    • Mentor and guide more junior Insights members in AXE LA & SG, providing constructive feedback and thought leadership to the team
    • Champion craft standards and maintain a high bar for the team's work
    • Create and run systems & processes for the AXE Insights pods and with stakeholders
  • Identify new revenue opportunities and develop strategies to pursue them.
  • Ensuring TFT maintains an up to date understanding of its monetizer segments and the target audience for its events and revenue products
  • Drive a continuous learning cycle on the AXE initiative, utilizing strong product frameworks and experimentation design to assess and evolve strategies
  • Work closely with other TFT Insights leaders from the Game and Publishing teams to create holistic reports that support senior leadership decision makers
  • Collaborate with Riot's data organization to ensure the data required to support AXE Insights is available and accurate
Required Qualifications:
  • 7+ years of professional experience in research, analytics, data-driven strategy, or related fields
  • Experience synthesizing & socializing results and distilling them into impactful recommendations for product leadership
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills, capable of shaping executive decisions through compelling, evidence-based insights.
Desired Qualifications:
  • 3+ years experience in a leadership role
  • Familiarity with Teamfight Tactics or other titles in the auto battler genre
  • Experience working on live service games
  • Experience in monetization and revenue-related areas, including pricing strategy, in-game economies, and revenue performance optimization.
  • Professional experience working with multiple cross-functional stakeholders

For this role, you'll find success through craft expertise, a collaborative spirit, and decision-making that prioritizes the delight of players. We will be looking at your past studies, experience, and your personal relationship with games. If you embody player empathy and care about players' experiences, this could be your role!

Our Perks:

Riot focuses on work/life balance, shown by our open paid time off policy and other perks such as flexible work schedules. We offer medical, dental, and life insurance, parental leave for you, your spouse/domestic partner, and children, and a 401k with company match. Check out our benefits pages for more information.

At Riot Games, we put players first. That mission drives every decision in our quest to create games and experiences that make it better to be a player. Whether you're working directly on a new player-facing experience or you're supporting the company as a whole, everyone at Riot is part of our mission. And just like in our games, we're better when we work together. Our goal is to create collaborative teams where you are empowered to bring your unique perspective everyday. If that sounds like the kind of place you want to work, we're looking forward to your application.
