WorkFit Medical Staffing, PLLC have been providing staffing placement locally and throughout NYS for over two decades. We are seeking an experienced recruiter to assist us in recruiting and placing healthcare staff locally with long term care facilities, clinics, and at our client hospitals throughout NYS.
Job Summary
The Travel Nurse Recruiter is responsible for sourcing, recruiting, and placing qualified travel nurses into short-term and long-term assignments across various healthcare facilities. This role requires strong relationship-building skills, a proactive approach to candidate management, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. The recruiter serves as the primary point of contact for candidates throughout the hiring and assignment lifecycle. Hourly with additional monthly comp plan.
Duties
Recruitment & Sourcing:
  • Proactively source travel nurse candidates through job boards, social media, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Screen applicants for required credentials, experience, and compliance with state and facility regulations.
  • Maintain a strong pipeline of active and passive candidates for current and future openings using ATS.
  • Conduct interviews and assess candidate suitability, professionalism, and availability.

Candidate Management:
  • Guide candidates through the onboarding process, including applications, credentialing, background checks, and compliance tasks.
  • Communicate assignment details clearly, including job expectations, schedules, pay packages, housing options, and facility requirements.
  • Build long-term relationships with travel nurses to encourage redeployment and retention.
  • Provide ongoing support to travelers during their assignments, addressing concerns or issues as needed.

Client & Facility Coordination:
  • Collaborate with account managers and facility partners to understand staffing needs and job requirements.
  • Submit qualified candidates to open roles promptly and follow up with facilities for feedback.
  • Ensure timely start dates by coordinating with compliance, payroll, and scheduling teams.

Experience:
  • Proven experience in technical recruiting within the healthcare sector, specifically focusing on travel nursing or allied health professionals.
  • Demonstrated success in talent management, internal recruiting, and executive recruiting processes.
  • Strong background in HR sourcing techniques such as research, cold calling, lead generation, and relationship management.
  • Familiarity with applicant tracking systems (ATS) .
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate effectively and build rapport with candidates and clients alike.
