Northwinds Services Group is seeking an experienced Recruiter for their corporate office in Rochester, NY. The Talent Acquisition Specialist will lead full-cycle, high-volume recruiting across multiple states and regions in a fast-paced HVAC environment. This role is responsible for driving hiring strategies that support aggressive growth targets, with a focus on attracting skilled trades talent including HVAC technicians, installers, plumbers, service managers, and support staff. This will be a primarily office-based role with standard business hours. Some travel (up to 20%) may be required for multi-site support.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the subject matter expert in all areas of recruitment, candidate assessment, and onboarding (full cycle) across multiple locations to ensure compliance with local employment laws
  • Strategize and work with the Human Resources Team to develop efficient and effective onboarding processes
  • Develop relationships and processes to fill high-volume positions and applicant pipeline through collaboration with multiple stakeholders
  • Develop proactive pipelines for hard-to-fill skilled trades roles (HVAC technicians, installers, plumbers etc) utilizing job boards, social media, referrals, trade schools, and industry networks
  • Drive efficient interview processes and ensure a strong candidate experience
  • Assist with the onboarding of newly acquired companies to include development communications with working employees to ensure all accurate information is loaded into ADP Comprehensive
  • Optimize workflows to reduce time-to-fill and cost per hire
  • Leverage ATS and recruiting tools to track and manage candidate pipelines
  • Stakeholder and Hiring Manager partnership
  • Provide regular updates on recruiting metrics, pipeline health, and any recruiting/onboarding challenges
  • Promote the company as an employer of choice in the skilled trades market


Job Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3-5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with a focus on high-volume hiring
  • Proven experience recruiting across multiple states and regions
  • Strong working experience with ADP Comprehensive or similar ATS/HRIS systems
  • Experience hiring for skilled trades or HVAC-related roles strongly preferred


Competencies:

  • Ability to manage a large requisition load (15-25+ open roles at a time)
  • Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies and recruiting tools (ATS, job boards, LinkedIn)
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
  • Experience in HVAC, construction, field services, or similar industries preferred
  • Familiarity with compliance considerations across multiple states preferred


The starting salary range for this position is $70,000 - $80,000 annually. This is the range of the base pay only, it does not include other components that make up the total compensation package of the position. If offered a position, your total compensation package will be determined by experience, location, skills, and/or education which may result in a total compensation package that falls outside of the provided range.
