STATUS: Full-time (37.5 hours)

HOURLY RATE: up to $21.50 per hour

SUMMARY

Provide assistance with Partners In Caring Respite program & ROC Respite as well as St. John's Senior Living collaboration project which helps caregivers receive volunteer respite. Services are provided in Monroe County with support at drop-in respite programs in Wayne, Ontario and Livingston Counties. Includes assistance with recruitment, screening, training and support of volunteers with a specific focus on recruiting drop-in volunteers as well as recruitment of caregivers and their care partners to attend ROC Respite. Responsible for assistance with project data collection and reporting. 


1. Program

  • Plans, organizes and runs activities at ROC Respite on Tuesdays (11 - 3:30) and Greece Baptist Church respite (1 - 4:30pm on Wednesdays. 
  • Attends and supports programming St. John's Respite (10:30 - 3:30) on Thursdays.
  • Supports family caregivers with information and assistance as well as referrals as applicable.
  • Actively engages in all Partners In Caring and ROC Respite program operations.
  • Member of FLCI team and Partners In Caring Respite team.
  • Assist with VR Intervention project:  Runs VP activity at all drop-in respite program a minimum of 1x/quarter at each location, Geneseo: Home Away From Home; Ontario: Safe Haven: Assists with ensuring volunteers and PIC Respite staff are trained on and understand how to use VR equipment;  Troubleshoot VR issues and concerns

2. Volunteer Management

  • Participates in the recruiting, coaching, training and monitoring of drop-in respite volunteers.
  • Works with team to maintain acceptable level of active volunteers for drop-in respite programs.
  • Works with team to meet, screen and orient individual drop-in respite volunteer applicants. Conduct and schedule their volunteer orientation and training.
  • Works with team to provide ongoing support for drop-in respite volunteers, including counseling, periodic check-ins and answering questions.
  • With team, co
    ordinates volunteer recognition program for all FLCI volunteers.
  • Assists in preparation of newsletters and other outreach to all FLCI volunteers and partners.
  • Works with team to complete all ongoing program, caregiver, care receiver and volunteer surveys for all FLCI respite services.

3. Outreach. 

  • Works with team to arrange and conduct community presentations for visibility of In-home and drop-in respite programs and with the team assists with recruitment of caregivers and volunteers. 
  • With team, conducts outreach to community groups, faith communities, and volunteer organizations.

4. General Administration & Operations

  • Gather and maintain data and files regarding ROC Respite, drop-in volunteers, caregivers, care receivers, and program files.
  • Utilizes Peer Place, Excel, Better Impact, other online systems and databases.
  • Provides reports as required - both computerized and manual.
  • Provides on-going updates and monthly reports. 
  •  Prepares reports as requested by the Supervisor as needed.

5. Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in social work, Human Service or related field or equivalent experience.

Experience: Comfort with VR technology required. Experience using VR for personal and/or professional use a plus. Knowledge of and experience working with people who have Alzheimer's Disease/dementia a plus. Volunteer recruitment and management experience a plus.


PHYSICAL AND MENTAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Ability to travel by car. Must have reliable transportation and valid driver's license.
  • Excellent technology skills to run VR program. ALL training provided.
  • Computer skills: Word, Outlook with ability in Excel required. 
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Ability to complete reports utilizing basic math and Excel skills
  • Basic knowledge of principles of human services research
  • Ability to perform work at a desk or at a personal computer station
  • Some standing during group presentations and professional trainings.
  • Excellent verbal, written and communication skills are required
  • Interface with all levels of personnel and with staff from other organizations
  • Ability to maintain composure under deadlines
  • Ability to work inclusively with diverse people and situations
