Job description

THE PART-TIME HOURLY POSITION ANNOUNCES AN OPENING IN KIDS COLLEGE/TEEN SCENE

POSITION:  Kids College Assistant (Part-Time)

Description of Duties: Perform general administrative and organizational tasks required for the operation of Kids College and Teen Scene. Enroll students in non-credit classes in the Community Learning Center. Assist with planning camps and events. Assist in the promotion of Kids College and Teen Scene programming to the community. Assist with the events. Communicate proper safety, participation guidelines, and rules to all camp participants. Communicate information assigned. Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. Responsible for pickup security and communication with parents at pick up. In charge of supervising counselors 1 and 2. Help resolve minor disciplinary problems and conflicts with Counselors 1 and 2.  In charge of counselor 1 and 2 orientation. The hours are variable and may require some evenings and weekends. The assignment dates available may vary from year-round to season.

Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent. At least one (1) year (12 full months) experience working with kids in any capacity, or one (1) year (3 months) Kid's College Experience.  Responsible, reliable, organized, good communication, customer service skills, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and computers. Accurate typing, proofreading, and editing skills. 

Desired Qualifications: Associate degree or equivalent and/or two (2) years' experience. First Aid certification. 

Pay Rate: $14.00 per hour

An unofficial degree conferring transcripts must be received by this office for formal consideration; however, should an offer of employment be extended, official transcripts are required.

All finalists may be subject to a background check and/or drug test.

Must be eligible to work in the United States.
