What You’ll Do:
As Event Venue Staff at The Helms Hall, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional event experiences. You’ll help create a welcoming, safe, and well-organized environment by supporting event setup, assisting guests and vendors, and maintaining the venue before, during, and after events. Your teamwork, professionalism, and reliability will ensure every event runs smoothly and leaves a lasting positive impression.
Job Type: Part-time, Hourly Non-Exempt
Hourly Rate: $17.00/hour
Shift:
Flexible, as-needed scheduling based on event bookings
Must be available for events occurring on evenings, weekends, and/or holidays
Hours are not guaranteed and will vary depending on venue needs
Key Responsibilities:
  • Set up and tear down event spaces, including tables, chairs, décor, and equipment, ensuring readiness before and after events
  • Provide excellent guest service by greeting attendees, answering questions, and supporting a welcoming environment
  • Assist Event Manager and vendors with event logistics, including load-in/load-out and on-site coordination
  • Monitor event spaces for safety, cleanliness, and proper flow; restock supplies and manage waste as needed
  • Follow safety procedures, operate basic equipment (as trained), and ensure compliance with venue policies and regulations
  • Support administrative tasks such as venue tours, inventory tracking, event documentation, and social media content capture
What You’ll Bring:
  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Experience in events, hospitality, or customer service preferred
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and interpersonal skills
  • Reliable, punctual, and customer-focused
  • Ability to adapt and multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable performing physical tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods
Additional Requirements:
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs independently and assist with heavier items as needed
  • Comfortable working in environments with moderate to high noise levels
  • Must pass pre-employment background check and drug/alcohol screening
