Looking for a role where you can bring people together for a purpose that matters?

At YWCA Greater Lafayette, our events do more than fill a calendar. They raise awareness, strengthen community connections, and support the mission-driven work we do every day.

If youโ€™re organized, creative, dependable, and enjoy turning ideas into successful events, this is a great opportunity to make a real impact.

What Youโ€™ll Do

This role is responsible for planning and executing YWCA signature events, fundraisers, and smaller community events throughout the year. Youโ€™ll help manage the moving pieces that turn great ideas into memorable experiences.

  • Coordinate logistics including venues, catering, dรฉcor, audiovisual needs, rentals, and vendors
  • Work closely with the Director of Development, Communications Manager, Fundraising Committee, and outside partners
  • Manage timelines to ensure deadlines are met and projects stay on track
  • Oversee event setup, event-day operations, breakdown, and cleanup
  • Recruit, schedule, and manage event volunteers
  • Communicate with vendors and community partners to ensure smooth execution
  • Assist with attendee experience, registration, and general event flow as needed

This role requires someone who can think ahead, stay calm under pressure, and solve problems quickly when plans change.

What Weโ€™re Looking For

Weโ€™re looking for someone who can own the details and represent the organization well.

  • Experience in event planning, coordination, or execution
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to manage budgets and use resources responsibly
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Experience organizing or leading volunteers preferred
  • Strong customer service mindset and professional presence
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Graphic design skills such as Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, or InDesign are a plus
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle cash responsibly when needed
  • Passion for YWCAโ€™s mission and community impact

What to Expect
  • Part-time, non-exempt position
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible schedule based on planning timelines and event calendar
  • Hours will include occasional evenings, nights, and weekends for events, meetings, or peak planning periods
  • Mix of office planning work and hands-on event support
  • Fast-paced work during event seasons with quieter planning periods in between

Why This Role Matters

Events help fund programs, increase visibility, and connect the community to YWCAโ€™s mission.
