Guests are invited to enter a world where they are free to play, shop, dine, spa, meet or simply relax - however they define a perfect day. Situated on oceanfront Collins Avenue in the heart of Millionaire's Row, Fontainebleau Miami Beach is one of the most historically and architecturally significant hotels on Miami Beach. Opened in 1954 and designed by Morris Lapidus, it was the most luxurious hotel on Miami Beach, and is thought to be the most significant building of Lapidus' career.
Responsibilities
Review, coordinate and manage group/convention/programs as assigned by the Director of Catering and Convention Services by communicating between the client and the hotel throughout the pre-planning and execution phases .Responsibility for the successful outcome of group/convention/programs from pre-arrival through to post-departure.
Examples of Duties, includes but is not limited to the following:
  1. Manage and execute the terms of the contract for the group/convention/program as outlined by the sales manager and per Fontainebleau standards
  2. Maximize food, beverage and auxiliary revenues by selling menus, themes and experiences/activities
  3. Communicate all details of assigned groups/conventions/weddings/programs to all departments in a professional, thorough and timely manner by using Convention and Social Group Resumes, Banquet Event Orders and internal correspondence effectively
  4. Establish close working relationships with clients and Fontainebleau team members
  5. Efficiently reserve and utilize function space to maximize revenues while minimizing space consumption
  6. Facilitate pre-conference meetings with clients and key hotel staff
  7. Work closely with the client and hotel departments throughout the duration of assigned groups/conventions/programs by being available to assist the client and provide information to hotel departments at the appropriate times
  8. Maintain a high level of service by continually providing accurate and timely information and feedback to all supporting departments
  9. Adhere to all standards and procedures as outlined by Fontainebleau
  10. Accurately forecast Banquet revenue, covers and average checks based on group assignments
  11. Conduct pre-planning site meetings and assist in the sales process where required
  12. Maintain the integrity of Sales & Catering at all times
  13. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Strong culinary and beverage knowledge and interest
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Hotel guest room inventory
  • Proven ability to plan and organize events effectively, with an acute sense of detail
  • Assertive, professional and positive approach with a proven ability to develop and lead in a team environment
  • Ability to develop strong professional relationships with vendors, guests and employees.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff.
  • Minimum of two (2) years Convention Services/Catering and hotel operations experience. Experience in a large convention hotel.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality Management /Administration or related discipline preferred.
