Job description

Position Summary

We're seeking an experienced Ad Operations Coordinator to join our advertising traffic team. You'll have specific, primary areas of responsibility within our multi-station broadcast operations while being fully knowledgeable about all traffic processes across the department. You'll work collaboratively with our Ad Operations Manager and team members, supporting WRAL/CBC's broadcast advertising operations across all stations, as well as digital campaign fulfillment. Success in this role requires both depth in your primary responsibilities and breadth of understanding across the entire traffic operation.


Primary Responsibilities

The coordinator will be expected to demonstrate competency and ownership across all of the following areas:

  • Advertising copy and materials management: intake, verification, compliance review, and coordination with creative services and master control operations
  • Traffic system operations: data entry, spot programming, metadata management, ISCI code generation in WideOrbit across all CBC stations
  • Inventory management: tracking available inventory, managing conflicts and preemptions, and supporting rate card adherence
  • Programming and scheduling: implementing the program schedule of live newscasts, syndicated programs, and NBC/FOX network content with guidance from programming, news, and network departments, ensuring precision with broadcast automation systems to support accurate ad placement and execution
  • Reconciliation and log monitoring: verifying aired inventory against broadcast logs, identifying discrepancies, and coordinating make-goods
  • Cross-team communication: managing escalations and issue resolution with sales, creative services, and broadcast operations
  • Documentation and record-keeping: maintaining organized, accurate traffic records and broadcast history
  • Digital Ad Operations: Digital Ad Operations: backing up our digital ad operations team by learning digital ad operations fundamentals


This coordinator will be expected to have working knowledge of all processes and be able to support team members, cover absences, and contribute to operational continuity across the full scope of traffic operations.


Required Qualifications

Experience

  • Demonstrated expertise in WideOrbit or comparable traffic management systems
  • Proven ability to manage multi-station traffic operations with accuracy and attention to deadline-driven workflows

Preferred Experience

  • 5 years of hands-on broadcast television traffic experience

Skills & Attributes

  • Exceptional attention to detail; demonstrated ability to maintain accuracy in complex, high-volume, multi-station environments
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with proven ability to prioritize and meet hard deadlines under pressure
  • Clear communication and collaborative skills; ability to work effectively across teams and escalate issues appropriately
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and email management systems
  • Knowledge of broadcast standards, ISCI coding, and make-good procedures
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new tools and processes as the organization evolves
  • Team-oriented mindset with willingness to support colleagues and take on broader responsibilities as needed
  • Experience with Google Ad Manager and other digital trafficking platforms is encouraged
