Job description

Campus Enterprises Mission: Campus Enterprises is NC State University's division of retail and hospitality organizations - NC State Dining, NC State Stores, Lonnie Poole Golf Course, NC State Student Centers (Witherspoon and Talley), and the One Card Office. Each department is dedicated to providing service excellence, value and enrichment of the student experience in support of academic success.
Purpose: NC State Students Centers creates memorable experiences for all students, guests and alumni at NC State. We strive to provide a clean, safe and welcoming environment for the NC State community. In support of the university's educational mission, we serve as a cornerstone for student growth, learning and involvement through the highest quality service and facilities.
Compensation: Students will start at a training level of tier 1 at $11 per hour. Once they have demonstrated sufficient skills they may be eligible to be promoted to a tier 2 position at $12 per hour.
In addition, eligible students will receive longevity raises based on years of service within Campus Enterprises. Student Centers employees are eligible for an end-of-semester bonus of up to $200.
Locations: Talley Student Union
Work Schedule: Event-based; 8-20 hours per week between 7am and 1am; includes nights and weekends; special hours apply occasionally

Essential functions and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Setup, strike, and clean event rooms, including large event spaces, based on information in 7PointOps according event standards
  • Maintain organized and safe facilities, venues and work areas
  • Set up and store equipment with care and precision
  • Plan ahead and manage time to ensure smooth transition of room setups between events
  • Uphold a superior level of customer service
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism at all times
  • Attend and actively participate in mandatory staff meetings
  • Remain in compliance with NC State Student Centers student employee policies and expectations at all times
  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Current NC State University student with a flexible schedule

  • Ability to carry, push, pull, and roll up to 40 pounds
  • Ability to work with and manage a team

  • Willingness and ability to support other functions of NC State Student Centers
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings, student employee orientation, and training sessions
