Reports To: Director of Development | Type: Full-Time, 40 hrs/wk (Hybrid)


Path to College is entering a period of transformational growth and is seeking a dedicated and experienced candidate to lead communications and events. The selected candidate will possess a passion for helping others, strong writing and communications skills, and the ability to lead and innovate in a fast-paced environment.

BROAD FUNCTION AND SCOPE

This position works closely with executive leadership to craft the communications message and deliver it via print, digital, website, and events; as well as lead planning and execution of all Path to College external events and fundraisers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Communications

  • Implement all materials in communications calendar while maintaining consistent and professional branding across all communications avenues, including e-communications, print mailing, newsletters, social media, promotional materials, and other special marketing needs.
  • Work with the Dream Storytellers student committee to design, produce, and print annual reports.
  • Create and maintain websites and social media. Work with a web development company to troubleshoot design and technical issues. Maintain the organizations photo and video archives.
  • Manage the preparation and strategic distribution of all press releases in coordination with the Development Officer.

Events Management

  • Staff and organize the activities related to signature special events including but not limited to the Shine & Dine Gala and Education Fest.
  • Identify opportunities for event enhancements, including apprising the Director of Development of possible partnership opportunities and sponsorships that may arise.
  • Maintain and organize all files relating to assigned special events, fundraising campaigns, and program activities with external-facing components. Ensure the integrity of information saved and confidentiality of donor information.
  • Support in generating sponsorships for each signature special event.
  • With Director of Development, implement two online giving campaigns per year.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Development or the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS

You must have one (1) of the following:

  • A masters degree and 1 year of paid experience in marketing, development, or event sales; OR
  • A bachelors degree and 2 years of paid experience in marketing, development, or event sales; OR
  • An associates degree or 60 credit hours and 3 years of paid experience in marketing, development, or event sales.

You must have all of the following:

  • At least 1 year of supervision/management experience.
  • Strong writing skills, expert computer skills, file management, and design experience.
  • Ability to work with volunteers.
  • Strong facility to learn new systems.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to meet program needs.
  • A valid drivers license, good driving record, and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to travel to training/meetings upon request of the Development Officer.
  • Must submit to and pass a Level 2 background check.
