Class Summary:

The City of North Miami Beach is seeking individuals who are interested in volunteering their time and talents to support City programs, services, and special events. Volunteer opportunities may be available in a variety of departments, including the Library, Parks & Recreation, and other City departments, and are based on the City's needs and the volunteer's interests, skills, and availability.
Examples of Duties:
This is not intended to be a comprehensive list. Volunteer assignments may vary by department and may include:
  • Assisting with City programs, events, and activities.
  • Providing general administrative or program support.
  • Assisting City staff with departmental projects.
  • Interacting with residents and visitors in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Performing other volunteer duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Requirements vary depending on the volunteer opportunity. Applicants should have the ability to work effectively with City staff and the public and perform the duties of the assigned volunteer position. Some volunteer opportunities may require a background check, fingerprinting, or other screenings.

Volunteer positions are unpaid and do not constitute employment with the City of North Miami Beach. Placement is based on departmental needs, volunteer interests, and successful completion of any required screening or onboarding process.
Applicants who demonstrate they meet the minimum requirements may be subject to an extensive selection process and screening program, which may include, but not be limited to, evaluation of education, training and experience; oral interview(s); background investigation; reference checks; medical evaluation; controlled substance screening. Preference will be given to certain veterans, spouses of veterans, or unmarried widows/widowers of veteran. Proof of veterans' eligibility must be provided at time of application EOE M/F/D/V.
