How to be a good event manager?

Career: Event Manager

Planning an event takes time, energy, and organizational skills. You must first determine what the client wants and expects from the occasion to create an outline of what you need to do. A good event manager coordinates every detail of the project, from booking the venue to hiring the clean-up crew. You need to be organized to meet deadlines, and learn to negotiate with a variety of vendors to obtain fair pricing and quality service. Be aware of what may go wrong the night of an event, and work to prevent it from happening or correct the error immediately if something does happen. A good event manager's ultimate goal is client satisfaction, so after the event is over, they discuss with clients what worked well and what they could have done better.
