Position Summary:

As an Activities Support Staff member, your role revolves around collaborating as part of a team to facilitate events of diverse sizes and purposes within the activities department. These events encompass a wide range, from concerts and dances to happy hours, trivia nights, luncheons, vendor shows, and more.


Event staff play a crucial role in the successful execution of various events, handling tasks from setup to guest assistance and ensuring a smooth experience for attendees.


They typically work in various settings, including indoor and outdoor venues, and may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the event schedule. The role can be physically demanding, requiring lifting and moving equipment.


Performance Objectives:

  • Setup and Breakdown: Prepare event venues by setting up chairs, tables, stages, and audio-visual equipment. After the event, assist in packing up and cleaning the venue.
  • Guest Services: Welcome guests, provide information, and cashier as needed.
  • Logistical Support: Work under the direction of an event manager to ensure all aspects of the event run smoothly, including managing registrations and ticketing.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all safety protocols are followed, including fire code regulations and emergency procedures.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional service to attendees, addressing any questions or concerns promptly and professionally.
  • Flexibility: Be cross-trained to fill in other positions within the department as needed, such as cashier, bar back, take tickets, and serve food for banquets.

  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong communication skills to interact effectively with guests and team members.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and perform physical tasks, such as lifting equipment and setting up venues. Able to lift 50 pounds.
  • Problem-Solving: Quick thinking and adaptability to handle unexpected situations or emergencies during events.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensuring that all setups meet the required standards and that the event runs according to plan.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members to achieve common goals.
  • Have current Arizona Safe Food Handler Certificate and Title 4 Alcohol Certification (or within 15 days of hire)
