Position Overview

Meridian Health Behavioral Services is inviting applications for a full-time Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to join our dedicated team. Work Environment

This position offers the flexibility of a remote work environment, which provides an ideal setting for work-life balance and caters to the increasing demand for accessible mental health services. You will primarily work in a school facility, engaging with students and their families, contributing to a supportive educational atmosphere where mental health is prioritized. Our work schedule is designed to support both employees and clients, featuring hours from 9 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, without evening or weekend responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments to identify the mental health needs of clients, develop effective treatment plans, and implement behavioral health services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of local, state, and federal behavioral health care programs and policies, ensuring compliance and optimal service delivery.
• Collaborate effectively as a vital member of the multidisciplinary care team, communicating with all levels of staff and engaging with health center patients.
• Execute timely evaluations and intakes for patients, providing compassionate and professional counseling and crisis intervention as necessary.
• Directly refer clients facing severe mental health issues to appropriate inpatient or specialty care facilities external to Meridian Health.
• Screen patients for substance abuse and provide counseling or referrals based on the outcomes of screenings, contributing to a holistic approach to health.
• Foster an environment of support and empowerment within the school, enabling students to access personalized mental health resources effectively.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your role will primarily involve working with a diverse population of students and their families within a school setting. You will focus on fostering an inclusive environment where students can openly discuss their challenges and mental health needs. This proactive approach aims to address mental health issues early, paving the way for healthier, more successful school experiences.

Qualifications

• A Master’s degree in Social Work and current licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) from a recognized accrediting body are mandatory qualifications.
• Demonstrated expertise in clinical skills and a solid foundation in crisis intervention techniques.
• Proficient communication abilities, both verbal and written, are essential for effective presentations and documentation.
• Experience working collaboratively as part of a healthcare team while displaying cultural competence and sensitivity.
• Proficient computer literacy is required, including experience with electronic health record systems to ensure efficient patient care management.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in a school setting or with adolescent populations will be advantageous.
• Familiarity with current best practices in behavioral health care and school-based interventions.
• Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or 504 plans is a plus.
