Job description

Responsibilities:

•    Assist Pre-construction Managers with Pre-construction and estimating information procurement, process set-up, engagement and completion of related tasks.
•    Assist and participate in preconstruction training, work product, scheduling and performance.
•    Participate in the creation and execution of strategies for new business development, marketing, and procurement of new client relationships.
•    Participate in establishing new client relationships
•    Maintain and be a positive influence on existing client relationships.
•    Manage and assist with the procurement of all documents, information, articles, plans and specifications and correctly assemble proposals, bids and presentations to clients
•    Participate in preconstruction strategies and formulation of proposals and presentations.
•    Assist in the creation of clear scopes of work for each subcontractor bid incorporated into GMCA, Inc. proposals.
•    Assist in the procurement, pre-qualification and vetting of new subcontractor and vendor relationships beneficial to GMCA.
•    Assist in the maintenance of GMCA subcontractor Data Base.
•    Assist in Competitive bidding, budgeting, forecasting, client negotiations with head of Preconstruction Department.
•    Analyze potential project risk factors and pitfalls on a case-by-case basis
•    Create and assemble quantity takeoffs, subcontractor and vendor quotations to maintain thorough and consistent bidding practices
•    Learn and possess a good understanding and working knowledge of the company estimating software, forms and procedures necessary to formulate an entire estimate.
•    Maintain estimating records for each proposal type and category. Assist with the preparation and presentation of the Preconstruction hand off to the Construction department.
•    Provide support to Estimating Department in creating marketing material.
•    Assist in canvassing market for new potential construction and renovation projects.
•    Contact owners, architects, engineers to find leads for new projects.
•    Create and send out marketing material to potential new clients.  Follow up as necessary.
•    Coordinate creation of bid proposals and assure all required forms are filled out and turned in with each proposal.
•    Act as a liaison for bid bond, bond and insurance requests for projects.
•    Work with Estimators in creating project and bid proposals.
•    Document control of all drawings, specifications and amends during bid process.
•    Review all proposals for completeness.

Qualifications:

•    Minimum 2-year degree in Building Construction Technology, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, architecture.
•    Ability to read and comprehend Plans and Specifications a must.
•    Excellent Oral, Written, Digital communication skills.
•    Physical and Mental discipline and acuity to maintain focus while procuring information necessary to complete proper estimates.
•    Customer Service skills.

•    Track record of teamwork when achieving a goal
•    Ability to prioritized and organize assignments to adequately complete workload to meet deadlines
•    Professionalism in handling coworkers, subcontractors and vendors.  This includes acting well under pressure, always maintaining respect and consideration for others and is able to accept responsibility at all times for their actions.
•    High accuracy in mathematics with a good working background in this discipline.
•    Ability to do accurate and thorough takeoffs.
•    Knowledge of Stack estimating program helpful
•    Mastery of Microsoft Word and Excel a must and non-negotiable.
•    Digital takeoff experience is required
•    Skill and use of Microsoft project is necessary
•    Prior marketing experience preferred
•    Prior construction industry experience is helpful but not necessary
•    Experience with office suite and other relevant software programs
•    Ability to work with minimal supervision and be a self-starter
