Position Summary
The ESG Analyst Associate at South Jersey Industries will support the implementation of the company's ESG strategy, goals, and KPI's in partnership with the business. Along with working on regular, project-based, and ad-hoc analysis, this key team member will effectively monitor and track SJI's ESG footprint with data analytics providers. This Analyst will also play a critical role in a cross-functional effort to collect, validate, and analyze internal and external sustainability data for conversion into information that supports strategy and oversight for the ESG Program. This role reports directly to the Director of Environmental, Social, Governance, and will serve as a thought leader on emerging ESG trends and best practices to ensure best-in-class reporting. This is also an exciting opportunity to support ESG governance operations on the ESG Task Force and ESG Management Committee, SJI's ESG governance body. Critical thinking, project management, fascination with data, business acumen, communication, and a "can-do" attitude are key to success this role.
Essential Functions:
  • Support and execute a wide range of data gathering, analysis, disclosure preparation, and initiatives for all aspects of SJI's ESG Program

  • Assist with the design, development, writing, and distribution of SJI's sustainability report, as well as internal control processes to assure metrics and data in ESG disclosures

  • Undertake benchmark research and gather insights related to global ESG reporting standards, and other regulatory requirements, trends, and stakeholder expectations

  • Manage internal ESG resources, training, content, and materiality assessments

  • Assist with the Company's responses to investors, customer, and other stakeholder requests for ESG information

  • Respond to ESG risk assessments and questionnaires from ratings and ranking organizations

  • Participate in seminars and conferences to understand ESG practices and regulations

  • Provide support to other related areas and emerging projects
